TECHNICAL PRODUCER / Technological ‘Wizard’*
We are looking to expand our line-up of Technical Producers to help grow and develop our production team.
The Technical Producer’s role is primarily to work with our customers to deliver the technology behind exceptional events. With a constant eye on outcomes and innovation, you act as the focal point of projects, enabling our clients to communicate their message in a clear and engaging way; no matter what the production.
Frequently on location, you work closely with freelancers, stakeholders and suppliers to drive the company’s standards, ethos and use your exceptional technical knowledge to deliver engaging, world-class videos, events and productions.
As the technical lead for your productions, you use your experience in video, streaming, audio and/or events to take ownership and manage all technical elements with a razor-sharp focus on delivery. You work directly with customers to understand and exceed their needs, develop relationships and champion the company’s capabilities with a view to expanding the services and scope of work provided.
Reporting to the Production Management, you’ll help create, shape, manage and deliver the technical and production components of our customer’ varying events.
This role would suit a technician (video, editing, lighting, sound, AV) looking to use their knowledge to improve customers’ events with their wizard-like technical skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Management of Event Technology
Harnessing the right software and hardware to create innovative and creative solutions to deliver our customer’s events. From webinars to conferences, product launches to graduations.
Direct Client Communicationn
Actively participating in project meetings to help shape and define client requirements. Developing and maintaining client relationships.
Measure Twice, Cut Once
Working with the wider First Sight Media teams to implement solutions, steer the development of event solutions and prepare for success.
Hands-on Event Production
Pulling everything together and taking ownership to deliver the project – acting as the technical point-of-contact for productions and using your wizardry* skills to ensure seamless production.
Equipment Management
Preparing and assigning equipment by creating ‘equipment kit lists’ along with packing for your events in our warehouse will ensure you have end-to-end involvement in your projects. You will have responsibilities for a small section of our warehouse equipment, making sure your allocated kit is complete and in working order - supplying links and costs for any spare parts needed for repairs as needed.
EXPERIENCE NEEDED
Essential
Hands on experience as technical ‘crew’ on events in one or a variety of roles, with a willingness to work on location frequently with flexibility (at times) to work sometimes long and varied hours if required.
At least 2 years of live technical delivery, with knowledge and understanding in camera work, live directing, streaming, A/V, audio and/or editing.
Understanding of the overall goals and principles of event production scenarios.
A taste for working on multiple projects at the same time.
Highly Desirable (but not essential)
At least 1 years of client management.
Virtual or hybrid event delivery with exposure to related software - such as vMix or OBS, and platforms such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams
Strong IT literacy with Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite.
*Although we use ‘wizard’ and ‘wizardry’ in a tongue-in-cheek way to suggest technical expertise, actual wizarding skills would be awesome. Although sadly, unnecessary.
