Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Head of Care to join our dedicated care team. Responsibilities
- Assist the manager in overseeing daily operations within the care home, ensuring smooth and efficient service delivery
- Support the development, implementation, and review of personalized care plans tailored to each resident’s unique needs, including dementia and Alzheimer’s care
- Supervise and mentor care staff to promote best practices in medication administration, hygiene, mobility support, and overall resident wellbeing
- Lead by example in delivering high-quality assisted living and home care services while fostering a positive team environment
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, safeguarding policies, and regulatory standards at all times
- Coordinate staff rotas, manage shift coverage, and monitor staffing levels to maintain optimal resident support
- Contribute to staff training initiatives focused on dementia care, senior care techniques, and leadership development
Requirements
- Proven experience working in nursing/ residential homes with a strong background in senior or dementia care
- Demonstrated supervisory or management experience within a care home setting
- Knowledge of care planning processes, medication administration protocols, and safeguarding procedures
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team of caregivers
- Strong understanding of Alzheimer’s disease and dementia-specific care strategies
- Relevant qualifications in nursing or healthcare (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent)
- Passion for delivering compassionate, person-centered care that enhances residents’ quality of life
