Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and reliable Stores Operative to join our dynamic warehouse team. Duties
- Safely load and unload goods using appropriate equipment such as forklifts and manual handling techniques
- Manage stock levels through accurate picking, packing, and stock replenishment activities
- Operate warehouse management systems (WMS) and AS400 software to track inventory movements and update records
- Conduct regular stock checks and assist in inventory audits to ensure accuracy
- Prepare shipments for dispatch by packing items securely and labeling correctly
- Receive incoming deliveries, inspect goods for damage or discrepancies, and store materials appropriately
- Maintain a clean, organized warehouse environment by adhering to safety protocols and housekeeping standards
- Utilize mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting equipment issues and performing basic maintenance tasks
- Support construction-related activities by handling specialized materials and understanding project requirements
Skills
- Valid forklift certification with experience operating various types of forklifts safely
- Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and AS400 software platforms
- Proven experience in materials handling, stocking, picking & packing, shipping & receiving processes
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during daily operations
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues quickly
- Previous warehouse or construction experience is highly desirable
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for inventory accuracy
- Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors

Pay: £24,500.00-£25,500.00 per year
