Play is Gloucester’s most exciting new nightclub concept, operated by Church Farm Hospitality Ltd — the team behind Trilogy, Hogarths, and Botanic in Hereford. We’re building the best door team in Gloucestershire to lead security for our flagship launch, and we want experienced, professional SIA-licensed door supervisors to be part of it from day one.

Roles available
Head Doorman
- Leads and manages the door team across the venue, setting the standard for professionalism and conduct
- Oversees rostering, briefings, and shift deployment of SIA staff
- Acts as the senior point of contact for management, licensing, and police liaison on the night
- Ensures full SIA compliance — licence checks, incident logging, and use-of-force standards followed to the letter
- Leads by example under pressure and sets the tone for a calm, controlled, guest-first door
Deputy Door Supervisors
- Support the Head Doorman in leading the team and covering when they’re off
- Take charge of specific zones (main entrance, VIP, floor) with full authority to make decisions
- Step up into incident management, de-escalation, and reporting
- Mentor newer SIA staff on standards and procedure
SIA Door Supervisors
- Manage entry, ID checks, and capacity control
- Keep guests and staff safe through calm, professional conduct and proportionate use of force only as a last resort
- Work closely with bar, floor and management teams to maintain a great guest experience
- Handle incidents promptly, safely, and in line with SIA guidelines
What we’re looking for
- A valid, in-date SIA Door Supervisor licence — non-negotiable, checked and verified before any shift
- Genuine professionalism — someone who represents the venue and the wider Church Farm Hospitality brand with pride
- A calm head under pressure, with excellent conflict de-escalation skills
- Strong communication and teamwork — this is a team-first door, not individuals doing their own thing
- Physically fit, well-presented, and confident dealing with the public
- For Head Doorman/Deputy: proven experience leading or supervising a door team
- Reliable, punctual, and available for a mix of weekend and event nights
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Pay: Competitive — above standard rates for licensed door staff, negotiable based on experience and role
