Location: West Hallam, Derbyshire
Hours: Set weekly hours chosen by you (self‑employed)
Subjects: Secondary Maths (Year 9–11), optional Primary Maths
We are a friendly, family‑run tuition centre with a strong reputation for helping young people grow in confidence and achieve meaningful progress. We are looking for a qualified, UK‑based Secondary Maths teacher to join our supportive team.
Please note:
- You must already have the legal right to work in the UK
- You must currently be living in the UK
- We cannot provide or transfer visa sponsorship
About the Role
You will deliver engaging, structured Maths lessons to students in Years 9–11 (with optional Primary Maths). Lessons are taught on a 1:1 or 1:2 basis, and we do not use computer‑based programmes — tutors plan tailored sessions based on each student’s needs following an initial assessment.
We teach in the evenings Monday–Friday, and all day Sunday. While you won’t be expected to cover all opening hours, we are looking for someone with good availability to support as many students as possible.
Planning is completed during sessions, so there is no expectation of additional workload at home unless chosen by the tutor.
What We’re Looking For
- A qualified teacher (QTS/PGCE) or equivalent
- Strong subject knowledge in Secondary Maths
- Someone warm, reliable, and genuinely invested in pupil progress
- A tutor who can deliver high‑quality, engaging lessons
- Experience with GCSE Maths content and exam preparation
What We Offer
- A welcoming, supportive team who truly care about each other
- Consistent weekly hours with long‑term students
- A well‑resourced centre with structured schemes of work
- A chance to make a real difference to local families
- A role where your passion and personality are valued
