What you’ll be doing
You'll work as part of our military vehicle production team, assembling and integrating mechanical and electrical systems on low-volume, high-specification defence vehicles.
You'll fit components and sub-systems to precise tolerances, work from engineering drawings and instructions, and use specialist tools and equipment to build vehicles to demanding safety, quality and performance standards.
You'll work closely with Production, Engineering and R&D colleagues to solve problems, improve processes and keep builds moving. Most importantly, you'll bring a practical, quality-focused approach and take pride in delivering work that's right first time.
This is a hands-on role, you'll be working directly on the vehicles, not sitting behind a desk.
What you’ll bring
We're looking for experienced, hands-on Vehicle Technicians, Fitters and Mechanics who can bring strong practical skills and a commitment to quality.
You'll ideally have:
- City & Guilds Level 3 (or equivalent) in Automotive, Mechanical or Vehicle Systems
- Experience in mechanical fitting, vehicle assembly or similar hands-on engineering
- Confidence interpreting engineering drawings, schematics and work instructions
- Experience working with hand tools, specialist equipment and mechanical components
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to getting things right first time
- A reliable, proactive and team-focused approach
- Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing, automotive or engineering environment
We'd particularly like to hear from you if you have:
- Experience working with military, specialist, HGV, commercial or off-highway vehicles
- Experience with vehicle electrical systems or electrical sub-system installation
- Experience in low-volume vehicle manufacturing or integration
- Experience working from detailed engineering drawings and build documentation
You don't need previous military vehicle experience. If you're an experienced automotive technician, HGV technician, mechanical fitter or vehicle builder with strong practical skills and the right attitude, we want to hear from you.
Our team also embraces modern technologies, including AI-assisted tools, to work smarter and deliver better results. Experience using AI isn't essential – we're looking for people who are willing to learn and apply new technology where it can improve the way we work.
