About the Role
BBC Coffee Limited is looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Production Assistant to join our coffee production team in Southampton.
This is a hands-on role supporting the packing and production of coffee. You will help operate coffee packing machines, prepare packaging materials, check finished products and support the wider production team.
The role is initially temporary, with the potential to become permanent for the right person.
Previous machine-operating experience is helpful but not essential, as training will be provided.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Helping to run coffee packing machines.
- Loading coffee bags, labels and packaging materials.
- Packing and preparing finished coffee products.
- Checking products are packed and labelled correctly.
- Keeping the production area clean and organised.
- Helping with simple machine changeovers and cleaning.
- Reporting any problems with machines or packaging to the team.
- Moving materials and finished products around the production area.
- Working with the team to complete daily production requirements.
- Supporting other production tasks when needed.
What We’re Looking For
You do not need to be an experienced machine operator.
We are mainly looking for someone who is:
- Reliable and punctual.
- Willing to learn.
- Comfortable working in a production environment.
- Practical and happy to work with machinery.
- Able to follow instructions.
- Careful and attentive to quality.
- Happy working as part of a team.
- Comfortable being on their feet during the working day.
Experience in production, packing, food manufacturing or warehouse work would be useful, but is not essential.
Working Hours
Approximately 40 hours per week, mainly Monday to Friday.
There may occasionally be opportunities for overtime or different working hours depending on production requirements.
