Drum Teacher – Music Learning Collective Derby
We are looking for a Drum Teacher to join our team for a permanent, part-time, face-to-face teaching position on Saturdays. We already have 4–5 hours of students ready and waiting for a September start, with lessons delivered across 42 pre-set Saturdays per year at our Derby teaching centre (DE23 2FS). The ability to teach additional instruments would be advantageous.
Music Learning Collective Derby provides high-quality instrumental tuition to students of all ages and abilities. Alongside the Saturday timetable, there may be opportunities to build additional work during the week at our partner schools and other teaching locations. Many tutors have gone on to develop substantial teaching portfolios with us across multiple sites.
Requirements
- Able to travel to our Derby teaching centre each Saturday (DE23 2FS)
- Confident teaching drums to at least Grade 5 standard
- Strong communication skills and confidence working with children and adults
- Good understanding of music theory
- Grade 8-level playing ability preferred
- Ability to teach additional instruments is a bonus
- Enhanced DBS check and right to work in the UK

- Self-employed contract position
- £18–£22+ per hour depending on experience and responsibilities

We are particularly interested in enthusiastic, reliable and personable musicians with strong performance skills and a passion for helping students progress. Teaching experience is welcomed but attitude, communication skills and musical ability are equally important.
