1-2-1 Educational Support Mentor
Location: Positions available in Stafford and Stoke.
Job Types: Term-time only, Full-time, Part-time, Zero Hours positions are available.
Salary: £22,000 - £24,000 per year (dependent on experience and working hours)

Esteem Educators is looking for compassionate, reliable, and proactive individuals to join our team as 1-2-1 Pupil Support Mentors. This role is perfect for those with experience in education, care, or youth work who are passionate about helping young people overcome challenges and succeed in education.
Key Responsibilities:
- 1-2-1 mentoring and support for young people facing barriers to education, such as mental health challenges, low confidence, or behavioural difficulties.
- Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils to provide a safe and supportive environment.
- Supporting students with additional needs, including persistent absence, social difficulties, and emotional regulation.
- Developing personalised mentoring plans to set achievable goals and track progress.
- Delivering engaging and interactive support sessions to help students stay motivated and develop key life skills.
- Working closely with schools, parents, and professionals to ensure a collaborative approach to pupil support.
- Maintaining accurate daily records of progress, achievements, and challenges.
- Ensuring the safety and welfare of all pupils in line with safeguarding policies.
Who We're Looking For:
We are keen to hear from candidates with experience in:
- Teaching assistants (with classroom or 1-2-1 support experience)
- Personal assistants (supporting individuals with additional needs)
- Care workers (especially those with experience working with children or young people)
- Youth workers, social care professionals, or mentors with a background in pastoral care
Essential Requirements:
- Experience working with young people facing barriers to education, such as challenging behaviour, emotional needs, or special educational needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport.
- Strong problem-solving and resilience, with a passion for helping young people succeed.
- A full UK driving licence and access to a personal vehicle at all times (this is essential as travel between schools is required).
- Business insurance for your vehicle, as you will be responsible for transporting pupils.
- An Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check (or willingness to obtain one).
