About the role
Bunge is seeking an experienced and proactive Assistant Grain Hygiene Manager to support the delivery of safe and effective grain hygiene, fumigation and pest management programs across our storage and handling network.
Reporting to the Grain Hygiene Manager, you will work closely with operational teams, pest control teams and industry stakeholders to ensure grain protection activities are conducted safely, efficiently and in accordance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. The role is responsible for supporting continuous improvement initiatives, training programs, pest management systems and technical projects that help protect grain quality and strengthen operational performance.
Key responsibilities
- Support the delivery of safe and effective fumigation and pest management programs across the Bunge network
- Develop and deliver grain hygiene and pest management training to operational employees and pest control personnel
- Review and improve pest management procedures, documentation, manuals and training materials
- Oversee the maintenance, servicing and performance of pest control equipment and provide technical advice to operational teams
- Liaise with internal stakeholders, customers and industry bodies to support best-practice integrated pest management outcomes
- Maintain treatment reference data, chemical registers and related systems to ensure compliance and operational effectiveness
- Assist with budget planning, expenditure monitoring and identifying future pest control and capital investment requirements
- Support continuous improvement projects focused on enhancing grain protection, operational efficiency, safety and cost effectiveness
About you
- Technical qualification or practical experience relating to agricultural chemicals, fumigants or pest management
- Strong understanding of integrated pest management principles and grain protection practices
- Experience in the application, handling and management of chemicals or commercial pest control experience.
- Ability to interpret chemical labels, safety data sheets and relevant legislation, codes of practice and procedures
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to deliver training and influence outcomes
- Demonstrated problem-solving, planning and organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Competent computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications and operational systems
- Experience within the grain industry, bulk handling, agriculture or a related operational environment will be highly regarded
- Current unrestricted driver’s licence
