Residential Service Manager – Sheffield
New Specialist Residential Service Opening November
At Godfrey Care, our Residential Service Managers don't just manage services — they lead people, shape culture, and deliver outstanding care.
We're looking for an experienced Residential Service Manager to lead a brand-new specialist residential service in Sheffield, opening around November. This is a unique opportunity to build a service from the ground up, recruit and develop your own team, and create a positive, person-centred culture from day one.
What we offer
- The opportunity to lead a brand-new residential service from the very beginning
- Strong regional, operational, and clinical support
- Ongoing training, leadership development, and clear career progression
- A leadership role where your impact is visible, valued, and meaningful
- Financial benefits including a Blue Light Card, employee referral bonuses, and long-service awards
About the service
Our new Sheffield service will support adults with learning disabilities, autism, and complex needs. Support will be tailored to each person's individual needs and may include 1:1, 2:1, or enhanced staffing levels.
As Service Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in mobilising the service ahead of its opening, helping to recruit and develop the team, establish high standards of care, and create an environment where people are supported to build independence, develop life skills, and enjoy meaningful lives within their community.
This is a hands-on leadership role where your vision, organisation, and commitment to quality will shape the future success of the service.
Your role
You'll have overall responsibility for the quality, safety, and performance of the service, including:
- Supporting the mobilisation and successful opening of the new service
- Leading the day-to-day and 24-hour operational management of the home
- Delivering high-quality, person-centred care and positive outcomes
- Ensuring compliance with CQC Fundamental Standards and relevant legislation
- Maintaining CQC registration, notifications, and regulatory compliance
- Embedding Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) and effective risk management
- Recruiting, leading, developing, and performance-managing your team
- Managing budgets, rotas, staffing, occupancy, and key performance indicators
- Building strong relationships with families, commissioners, healthcare professionals, and internal stakeholders
You'll be supported throughout by an experienced Area Manager, an Internal PBS Specialist, and a wider leadership team committed to helping you succeed.
Who we're looking for
We're seeking a confident, resilient, and values-driven leader with experience managing specialist residential services.
You'll bring:
- Proven experience managing residential services supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism, and complex needs
- Strong knowledge of CQC regulations and health and social care legislation
- Experience implementing Positive Behaviour Support and managing complex behaviours
- Excellent leadership, communication, and team development skills
- The ability to remain calm, professional, and decisive in challenging situations
- A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care
- Flexibility to meet the needs of the service during mobilisation and beyond
Ready to build something exceptional?
If you're looking for the opportunity to shape a brand-new service, inspire a new team, and make a lasting difference in people's lives, we'd love to hear from you.
