Job Overview
About The Vault Concierge
The Vault Concierge designs and builds bespoke Mercedes-Benz V-Class and Sprinter conversions for clients who expect exceptional comfort, craftsmanship and finish. Every vehicle is built with close attention to detail, combining premium interiors, tailored woodwork, upholstery, electrical systems, lighting, entertainment and practical vehicle engineering.
We are expanding our workshop team and are looking for a reliable, capable Vehicle Conversion Technician to help build high-quality vehicles from strip-out to final handover. This is a practical, workshop-based role for someone who takes pride in getting the details right.
The Role
You will work as part of the build team to transform standard vehicles into high-end bespoke conversions. The role covers a broad mix of vehicle fitting, assembly, interior installation and automotive electrical work. You do not need to have worked specifically on luxury conversions before, provided you have solid practical vehicle experience, a high standard of workmanship and the desire to learn.
Key Responsibilities
You will safely strip, prepare and protect vehicles before conversion work begins. You will measure, cut, assemble and fit bespoke interior components, including flooring, insulation, panels, seating, trim, storage, woodwork and finishing pieces.
You will install and test 12V automotive electrical systems, including wiring looms, lighting, USB and power supplies, entertainment equipment, cameras, accessories and other vehicle-installed technology. You will identify and resolve fitting, electrical and finish-related issues as they arise, keeping every installation neat, reliable and professionally presented.
You will also assist with lifting, positioning and securing interior modules and vehicle components safely; maintain a tidy and organised workshop; follow build drawings, job sheets and quality-control processes; and work closely with the wider team to deliver vehicles to schedule without compromising the required finish.
Essential Skills and Experience
The successful candidate will have previous hands-on experience in at least one relevant area, such as vehicle fitting, mechanical work, vehicle assembly, auto-electrics, coachbuilding, body fitting, campervan or motorhome conversions, commercial-vehicle fitting, carpentry or bespoke interior installation.
You must be confident using hand and power tools, able to measure accurately, and capable of producing neat, consistent work. A practical understanding of 12V automotive electrical systems, vehicle wiring, electrical fault-finding or accessory installation is highly valuable. You must be reliable, safety-conscious, organised and comfortable working both independently and as part of a close workshop team.
A full UK driving licence is required.
Desirable Experience
Experience working on Mercedes-Benz vehicles, executive vans, campervans, motorhomes, specialist vehicles or luxury automotive interiors would be advantageous. We would also welcome skills in automotive upholstery, trim fitting, cabinetmaking, carpentry, fabrication, welding, audio installation, vehicle lighting, CCTV, multimedia systems, CAN-bus systems or diagnostics.
What We Offer
This is an opportunity to work on distinctive, high-quality vehicle builds in a growing specialist business. You will be part of a supportive workshop team where craftsmanship and attention to detail matter. The role offers competitive pay based on proven ability, ongoing development in vehicle-conversion techniques, and genuine progression as the workshop grows.
Who We Are Looking For
We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys practical vehicle work and gets satisfaction from seeing a build come together properly. You should be dependable, willing to learn, comfortable solving problems on the job and proud of a clean final finish. We value the right attitude and standard of workmanship as much as direct luxury-conversion experience.
How to Apply
Please send your CV, a brief introduction and, where available, photographs or examples of relevant vehicle, electrical, joinery, fitting or assembly work. Tell us why you would like to join The Vault Concierge and the areas of practical work in which you are strongest.
The Vault Concierge is an equal-opportunity employer.
