Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Window Fitter to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, replacing, and repairing windows across various sites, ensuring high standards of safety and quality. Responsibilities
- Measure and mark window openings accurately to ensure proper fitment.
- Install new windows, ensuring secure fixing and sealing to prevent leaks and drafts.
- Remove old or damaged windows safely and efficiently.
- Use a variety of hand tools and power tools to carry out installation tasks.
- Follow technical drawings, schematics, and specifications to meet project requirements.
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations at all times.
- Assist with related tasks such as plastering, masonry, or fabrication as required on-site.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, minimising hazards during installation processes.
- Collaborate with other trades such as roofing, plumbing, or electrical teams when necessary.
Skills
- Proven experience in window fitting or general construction work.
- Knowledge of roofing, plumbing, welding, electrical systems, or masonry is advantageous.
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools used in construction environments.
- Ability to read schematics and technical drawings accurately.
- Strong understanding of health and safety procedures relevant to construction sites.
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail during measurements and fittings.
- Good physical fitness for lifting heavy materials and working at heights or in confined spaces.
- Experience in carpentry, plastering, fabrication, or construction painting is desirable but not essential.
