Due to the award of a significant new multi-year manufacturing contract, together with continued business growth, we are expanding our production team and are looking to recruit experienced Gel Coat Sprayers to join our Hull manufacturing facility.

The Role
As a Gel Coat Sprayer, you will be responsible for producing the high-quality cosmetic finish that forms the foundation of every GRP bathroom pod and shower pod we manufacture.
Working within our dedicated Gel Coat Bay, you will prepare moulds and accurately apply gel coat using specialist spray equipment, ensuring every product meets our exacting quality standards before progressing to the laminating process.
This is a highly skilled role where attention to detail, consistency and pride in workmanship are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare moulds ready for gel coat application.
- Inspect mould surfaces prior to spraying.
- Operate gel coat spray equipment safely and efficiently.
- Apply gel coat to the required thickness and finish specification.
- Monitor gel coat quality, coverage and consistency throughout the spraying process.
- Carry out visual quality inspections and identify any defects before production progresses.
- Clean and maintain spray equipment to ensure optimum performance.
- Monitor material usage and minimise waste.
- Maintain excellent housekeeping standards within the Gel Coat Bay.
- Handle gel coat, catalyst and associated materials safely in accordance with COSHH assessments.
- Work in accordance with all Company Health & Safety procedures, Safe Systems of Work and quality standards.
What We're Looking For
We would particularly like to hear from candidates with experience in:
- Gel Coat Spraying
- GRP Manufacturing
- Composite Manufacturing
- Fibreglass Production
- Boat Building
- Caravan Manufacturing
- Automotive Composite Manufacturing
- Industrial Spray Applications
Experience working with polyester gel coat systems and catalyst-controlled spray equipment would be advantageous.
Essential Skills
- Previous experience in gel coat spraying or industrial spray application (preferred).
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to consistently produce high-quality finishes.
- Good understanding of quality standards.
- Ability to work methodically whilst maintaining production targets.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable, punctual and hardworking.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Applicants with transferable industrial spray experience will also be considered, with full training provided for the right candidate.
Health & Safety

Working within the Gel Coat Bay involves the use of specialist materials and equipment, and successful applicants will be expected to comply fully with all Company Health & Safety procedures.
This includes:
- Wearing mandatory PPE at all times.
- Correct use of respiratory protective equipment (RPE).
- Following COSHH assessments and chemical handling procedures.
- Working with extraction systems in operation.
- Maintaining excellent housekeeping standards.
- Reporting hazards, unsafe conditions and near misses.
- Following Company Safe Systems of Work.
- Supporting our "See It. Say It. Sort It." safety culture.
