KITCHEN PORTER JOB DESCRIPTION
REPORTING TO: SUPERVISORS, ASSISTANT MANAGERS, GENERAL MANAGER
Your role at a glance:
- To provide excellent customer service
- To wash dishes and cutlery to the correct specification
- To put away deliveries
- To complete daily cleaning tasks
- To adhere to Blend standard operating procedures (SOP’s) and company police to maintain a clean, safe and legal workplace
All of the training we provide will teach you everything you need to know to succeed, but there are a few essential requirements you’ll need to start.
- Have a proof of right to work in the place where you will be based (U.K). This must be uploaded on workforce prior to your force shift. This is a legal requirement
- Have a U.K bank account
- Be able to converse in English and to understand the language to complete training and other duties associated with your job role
- Have a fixed place of residence within reasonable travelling distance of your place of work.
- Basic computer literacy

A day in the life:
- Work as a team throughout the business to achieve the company’s goals
- Deliver consistently high standards of cleanliness
- Take pride in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness by adopting a ‘clean as you go’ philosophy (including, but not limited to, staff areas, external areas, toilets, bar and glass wash, customer areas.)
- Carry out any reasonable task as requested by the management team to meet the needs of the business
- Grease traps to be deep cleaned and emptied daily
- Prompt washing of all crockery and cutlery brought into the KP room from the floor staff, ensuring a quick turn around so the site does not run out
- Bins need to be emptied and washed out at the end of every night, remembering to put food waste and general bins in the correct bins in the bin store
- Deep cleaning of the floor each night, sweeping and mopping under the equipment
- Follow trail to ensure a correct closedown procedure takes place. This includes walls, surfaces, grease traps, bins, trollies, sinks, shelving and other tasks listed
- Deep cleaning of the dishwashers every night, ensuring all ledges, rims, filters and inner sides and tops of the machines are cleaned and wiped out, leaving open overnight to air dry.
- Wipe down of clearing trollies at the end of each night, rinsing of any bins and new bin liners in ready for trade the next day. Please keep trollies the KP room at the end of each night
