Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon (Medico-Legal)

About the Opportunity
LPT Healthcare is looking to work with experienced Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeons who are interested in undertaking independent medico-legal assessments throughout the United Kingdom.
This position is ideal for consultants seeking flexible work alongside their existing commitments. Assessments may be carried out virtually or at clinic locations, depending on case requirements and your availability.
What You'll Be Doing
As part of our nationwide expert panel, you will:
- Carry out independent orthopaedic examinations for medico-legal purposes.
- Evaluate clinical records, imaging, and supporting documentation.
- Produce accurate, well-reasoned medico-legal reports within agreed timeframes.
- Provide impartial opinions on diagnosis, causation, prognosis, and future treatment needs.
- Maintain high standards of professionalism, confidentiality, and clinical governance.
Candidate Profile
Applicants should possess:
- Full GMC registration with a current licence to practise.
- Entry on the GMC Specialist Register for Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgery.
- Appropriate medical indemnity cover.
- ICO registration Certificate
- Excellent written communication and analytical skills.
Fee Structure
- Consultants receive a good percentage of the invoiced fee for each completed assessment and report.
- Payments are released once settlement has been received from the instructing party.
- Work is allocated according to your preferred availability.
Our administration team manages bookings, correspondence, and case coordination, allowing you to focus on assessments.
