Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Wok Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking authentic wok dishes, ensuring high-quality food presentation and flavour. Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of wok-based dishes according to established recipes and standards
- Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with food safety and hygiene regulations
- Manage ingredient stock levels, ensuring freshness and quality of produce used in meal preparation
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing, sanitising, and storing utensils and equipment
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during busy periods
- Assist in menu development by suggesting new wok dishes or improvements to existing recipes
- Monitor cooking times and temperatures to guarantee optimal results for each dish
- Adhere to health and safety guidelines at all times during food preparation and service
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or as a kitchen assistant within a restaurant environment
- Strong knowledge of culinary techniques specific to wok cooking and Asian cuisine
- Excellent understanding of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Effective communication skills to work collaboratively within a team setting
- Previous experience in meal preparation, serving, or restaurant operations is desirable but not essential
