Summary
Join us as a Surface Mount Technology (SMT) Operator in our Production team. In this fast-paced role, you will be responsible for setting up and operating surface mount technology (SMT) equipment including pick and place machines, screen printers, and reflow ovens to support high-quality PCB assembly.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and run SMT machines (pick & place, screen printers, reflow ovens)
- Participate in daily team briefings and follow production schedules
- Work from assembly drawings and bills of materials (BOMs)
- Identify component types and board defects
- Ensure work meets IPC-A-610 standards and quality requirements
- Follow ESD and health & safety procedures
- Support continuous improvement and assist other teams when required
Skills & Experience:
We would love you to have the skills and experience listed below, but we are also keen to hear from you if you can evidence in your application a willingness to learn, as training for the right candidates can be provided.
- Experience in SMT/PCB assembly, or a similar environment
- Knowledge of electronic components (resistors, capacitors, ICs)
- Ability to follow technical drawings and instructions
- Strong attention to detail
- Good computer literacy
- Experience with Juki and DEK machines
- Fine pitch / BGA experience
- Understanding of IPC-A-610 standards
- Soldering and rework experience

Available shifts: -
· Early: Mon to Thurs – 0600 to 1400, Fri – 0600 to 1130
· Day: Mon to Thurs – 0800 to 1600, Fri – 0800 to 1330
· Late: Mon to Thurs – 1345 to 2145, Fri – 1115 to 1645 (20% shift allowance)
