Galeta is one of London's leading artisan wholesale bakeries. Purpose of the role
We are looking for an experienced Fleet Manager to take ownership of our delivery fleet of 16 x 3.5T Luton low-loader box vans. This is a hands-on role responsible for keeping our vehicles safe, compliant, and on the road, while managing driver performance and supporting our delivery operation when required.
Key responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day running of a fleet of 16 x 3.5T Luton low-loader box vans, ensuring maximum vehicle availability.
- Schedule and oversee routine servicing, MOTs, and maintenance across the fleet
- Carry out basic mechanical checks and troubleshooting, and coordinate with external garages/mechanics for larger repairs
- Manage and appeal parking, congestion, ULEZ, and other traffic tickets on behalf of the business
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle documentation, insurance, servicing history, and defect reports
- Monitor driver daily van checks and ensure any faults are reported and actioned promptly
- Track fuel/energy usage and mileage, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs
- Ensure full compliance with relevant road transport, health & safety, and DVSA regulations
- Manage relationships with fleet suppliers and garages
- Step in to deliver to customers when required to cover driver shortages or urgent needs
- Report on fleet costs, downtime, and KPIs to the Operations Director
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience managing a multi-vehicle fleet, ideally box vans/LGVs
- Basic mechanical knowledge, with the ability to identify and troubleshoot common vehicle issues
- Experience appealing parking/traffic tickets and managing vehicle compliance documentation
- Full UK driving licence
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple vehicles, drivers, and deadlines
- Comfortable using fleet management software/systems and basic reporting tools
- Good communication skills, both with drivers and management
- Flexible and hands-on approach, willing to step in on deliveries when needed
- Experience in food, FMCG, or bakery logistics is an advantage

- Working hours: 4am to 1pm.
- 5 shifts per week organised through a weekly rota.
- Must have the right to work in the UK.
Pay: Up to £37,000.00 per year
