About the Role
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Telecoms & Data Engineer to join our team, responsible for installing, maintaining and supporting a wide range of telecoms, networking and connectivity solutions across customer sites.
The role will involve working with multiple technology platforms, including structured cabling, fibre optics, Wi-Fi systems, hosted voice solutions, CCTV and door access control systems. You will also support customer installations, assist with service orders, diagnose faults and provide technical support to ensure our customers receive a high-quality service.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone with a background in telecoms, networking or data engineering who enjoys hands-on installation work, customer interaction and working independently in a varied field-based role.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, terminate, label and test structured cabling systems, including copper and fibre optic cabling (fibre training can be provided).
- Install, configure and maintain telecoms solutions, including hosted voice platforms.
- Install and support Wi-Fi solutions, including access points and network infrastructure.
- Install and maintain CCTV and door access control systems.
- Carry out network troubleshooting, including router installation, patching and resolving on-site technical issues.
- Assist with customer orders, installations and service requests.
- Provide professional customer support, including system handovers and user training.
- Maintain accurate records of completed work and update relevant documentation.
- Work safely and professionally while representing the company at customer locations.
About You
You will ideally have experience within the telecoms, networking or data installation industry and enjoy working in a practical, customer-focused environment.
You should be:
- Comfortable working independently at customer sites.
- Confident communicating with customers and providing technical guidance.
- Able to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
- Practical, organised and willing to learn new technologies.
- Professional, reliable and committed to delivering excellent service.
Essential Requirements
- Experience in telecoms, networking, data cabling or a related technical field.
- Knowledge of structured cabling and network installations.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable Experience
- Fibre optic installation and testing experience (training available).
- Experience with hosted voice platforms.
- Experience with Wi-Fi, CCTV or access control systems.
- Relevant industry certifications or technical training.
