Contract Type: Registered Nurse – Harlington Hospice Internal Iotation
Harlington Hospice is dedicated to providing compassionate end-of-life care to patients and their families. Our multidisciplinary team works collaboratively to ensure that every patient's individual needs are met with empathy, professionalism, and expertise. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality palliative and end-of-life care. You will work closely with colleagues across the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement personalised care plans, focusing on symptom management, pain control, comfort, and emotional wellbeing for patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities
· Assess and monitor patients’ physical, emotional, spiritual, and cultural needs.
· Deliver high-quality, person-centred nursing care in line with hospice standards and best practice.
- Administer medications and treatments safely and effectively, as prescribed.
- Provide skilled nursing interventions, including wound care, catheter management, and symptom control.
- Maintain accurate, comprehensive, and timely clinical documentation.
- Work collaboratively with doctors, social workers, chaplains, therapists, and other multidisciplinary team members to provide holistic care.
- Support and advocate for patients’ wishes, preferences, and goals of care.
- Provide emotional support and guidance to patients and their families throughout their hospice journey.
- Liaise with statutory, voluntary, and community agencies to ensure continuity of care between hospital, hospice, and community settings.
- Contribute to a culture of compassion, professionalism, and continuous improvement within the hospice team.
What We Are Looking For: Registered Nurse (NMC Registered). Excellent clinical assessment and communication skills. A compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Commitment to delivering outstanding end-of-life and palliative care. Experience in palliative care, oncology, community nursing, or a related specialty is desirable, although training and development opportunities may be available for the right candidate.
