Job Title: Cake Decorator
Location: 8 Station Lane, Hornchurch, England, RM12 6NJ
Contract Type: Full time, 40 Hours a week
Salary Range: £27,000 - £32,000 per year
Overview:
Our love affair with cakes began back in 2002 when we opened our first Cakes & Bakes branch in Eastham, London.
We imagined a place where customers searching for scrumptious eggless cakes and savouries could discover a wide range fit for any occasion, without paying through the roof.
Duties:
- Decorating a vast array of different cakes, (including Icing / Sugar, Paste, Cream Cakes, Novelty Cakes, Wedding Cakes and more)
- Quality checks as per company standards
- Baking cake and savory products
- To aid the Head Chef to achieve the BakeHouse budgeted food costs.
- To carry out month-end food stock taking.
- To be responsible for the day-to-day ordering of food for a section in line with UK purchasing guidelines.
- Ensure food prepared is of highest possible standards.
- Controlling portion sizes in accordance with food specifications.
- Plan and allocate jobs/tasks to subordinate staff, ensuring that all items produced are according to standard recipes, portion yields and within agreed time limits and minimum wastage.
- Dealing with food complaints efficiently.
- Ability to demonstrate strong organizational skills.
- Check that all food safety regulations and procedures are fully complied with.
- Report any defective equipment or safety hazards within the kitchen.
Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:
- Communication skills both listening and verbal
- Ability to build good working relationships
- Ability to work using own initiative
- Strong English language.
- Good Experience as a Cake Decorator /pastry chef
