We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Hand to join our team, you must be confident in handling all breeds of dogs and cats, be physically fit and capable of carrying out manual tasks and being happy to work independently and as part of a team, flexibility is essential to work weekends and holiday periods.
Responsibilities
- Assisting with the daily care and cleaning of animals in the kennel, including feeding, watering, and administering medication as directed
- Exercising the dogs and ensuring their welbeing
- Confident in handling all breeds of dogs and cats
- Maintaining a high level of cleanliness and hygiene standards within the kennels and surrounding areas
- Ensuring the safety and comfort of animals at all times
- Be physically fit and active with the ability to carry out manual tasks and spend a lot of time on your feet
- Providing excellent customer service when speaking to our customers about their pets.
- Monitoring animal behaviour and reporting any concerns to staff promptly
- Adhering to health and safety protocols to ensure a safe environment for staff, clients, and animals
- Work a flexible rota which includes working weekends.
Experience
- Relevant qualifications and/or previous experience working in an animal care background is essential.
- Strong understanding of animal behaviour and welfare standards
- Experience in customer service environments is advantageous
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine interest in animal wellbeing
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail. This role offers an enriching environment for those passionate about working with animals.
