We’re looking for a dependable, enthusiastic and creative After-School Art Club Leader to join Rosie’s Art Club and run sessions at local primary schools. Please note all applicants must have a valid Enhanced DBS Certificate and live locally to the locations listed.
This is initially a short-term cover role, with the possibility of continuing in the role on a regular basis afterwards.
- Wednesday 9th September - Coulsdon, 3:10–4:40pm (class runs 3:30 - 4:30pm)
- Friday 11th September - Whyteleafe, 2:50–4:20pm (class runs 3:10 - 4:10pm)
More regular hours are likely to become available as we continue expanding into local schools.
In this role, you’ll deliver fun and engaging art sessions for primary-school-aged children, helping them explore a different creative theme each week. Session plans, materials and examples are provided.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys both art and working with children. There are also opportunities to work at our holiday camps during the school holidays, including our Mega Camp and HAF-funded holiday programmes.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome children to the club and take the register
- Introduce the weekly art theme and activity
- Provide hands-on support as children work on their projects
- Encourage creativity, confidence and enjoyment
- Manage the group and maintain a positive, safe environment
- Safely dismiss children to parents/carers or the school’s after-school provision
- Leave the classroom clean and tidy at the end of the session
Requirements
- Previous experience working with children
- A creative or artistic background, either professionally or as a hobby
- Confident leading a group of primary-school-aged children
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliable and able to commit to regular after-school sessions
- A valid Enhanced DBS certificate, ideally registered on the Update Service
Pay: £40.00 per hour
