Purpose of the Role
The House Manager is responsible for ensuring the smooth day-to-day upkeep of a building of serviced apartments. The role focuses on coordinating maintenance, managing contractors, carrying out property inspections, and ensuring apartments remain safe, compliant, and presented to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular inspections of apartments and communal areas.
- Coordinate and oversee reactive and planned maintenance works.
- Manage external contractors, ensuring work is completed to the required standard.
- Raise maintenance requests and monitor progress through to completion.
- Carry out basic maintenance tasks where appropriate.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements across the portfolio.
- Monitor the condition of furniture, fixtures and equipment, arranging repairs or replacements as required.
- Liaise with housekeeping and operations teams to minimise disruption to guests.
- Maintain accurate maintenance and compliance records.
- Assist with apartment refurbishments and improvement projects.
- Support emergency maintenance issues, including occasional out-of-hours response where required.
Person Specification
Essential
- Previous experience in a property, facilities, maintenance or building management role.
- Good practical knowledge of general building maintenance.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience coordinating contractors and suppliers.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and use initiative.
- Full UK driving licence (preferred if applicable).
Desirable
- Experience within serviced apartments, hotels or residential property.
- Knowledge of health and safety and property compliance.
- Basic DIY or maintenance skills.
Pay: £35,000.00-£38,000.00 per year
