Overview
The Early Years Educator / Practitioner provides a nurturing and stimulating environment for young children to promote their social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development. They create and implement an age-appropriate curriculum, observe and assess children's progress, communicate with parents or guardians, and ensure a safe and supportive learning atmosphere.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities that promote learning, social skills, and emotional development
- Create a safe, welcoming environment that encourages curiosity and independence among children
- Observe and assess each child's progress, maintaining detailed records to support their developmental journey
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians about children's achievements and any concerns
- Support children with daily routines such as mealtimes, naps, and hygiene practices
- Collaborate with team members to implement curriculum plans and ensure consistency in care standards
- Maintain compliance with childcare regulations and health & safety policies at all times
Skills
- Proven experience working with children in a childcare or nursery setting
- Strong understanding of early childhood education principles and child development stages
- Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to connect effectively with children, parents, and colleagues
- Demonstrated management and leadership abilities within a team environment
- Ability to motivate and inspire young learners through creative teaching methods
- Valid childcare qualifications such as Level 3 Early Years Educator or equivalent
- Flexibility to support various shifts; driving license is a plus for travel between multiple sites or community outreach activities

Pay: £13.00-£14.30 per hour
