Company Overview
Tees Valley Trade Group is a growing multi-trade contractor delivering high-quality construction and maintenance services across the housing sector.
Working with housing providers, developers and commercial clients, we pride ourselves on delivering reliable workmanship, excellent customer service and professional solutions across all areas of our business.
As part of continued growth within our Exteriors division, we are creating a new Administrator role to support the planning and delivery of our fencing works. This is an entry-level opportunity, although some previous experience in an office, administrative or similar working environment would be helpful.
Position Overview
The initial focus of the role will be allocating and scheduling works to our fencing teams and subcontractors, preparing accurate material requirements for our warehouse and making sure the information needed to complete each job is available and correct.
Accuracy and attention to detail are important, as the information produced within this role directly affects our site teams and warehouse. Errors can result in wasted materials, lost time and additional costs, so we need someone who will check information carefully, ask questions where needed and think ahead.
As this is a newly created position, the role is expected to develop over time as we establish what additional support is most beneficial to the department. Full training will be provided on our systems, processes, fencing products and working practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Allocate and schedule works to fencing teams and subcontractors.
- Prepare and issue clear daily and weekly work information.
- Prepare accurate material lists for the warehouse to support upcoming works.
- Check job information, specifications and requirements before works are issued.
- Liaise with Contracts Managers, operatives, subcontractors and warehouse staff.
- Update internal systems, job records and other required documentation accurately.
- Respond to changes in the work programme and rearrange works where required.
- Identify missing information, material issues or potential problems before they affect site.
- Communicate schedule changes and relevant updates to the people involved.
- Provide general administrative support to the Fencing & Exteriors department.
- Take on additional administrative and operational duties as the role develops.
Requirements
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Some previous experience in administration, scheduling, customer service or another busy working environment.
- Strong organisation skills and the ability to manage several tasks and priorities at once.
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Confidence to use their own judgement and ask questions when information is unclear or does not look right.
- Good communication skills and the confidence to deal with different people across the business.
- A practical, proactive approach with the ability to think ahead and spot potential issues.
- Comfort working with numbers, measurements and basic material quantities.
- Good computer skills, including confidence using Microsoft Office and digital systems.
Previous construction or fencing experience would be advantageous but is not essential. This role could suit someone who already has a little workplace experience and is looking for an opportunity to develop, take on responsibility and grow into a broader role within the business.
What We Offer
- Full training and support.
- A permanent role within an established and growing construction business.
- A varied position with genuine scope to develop as the role evolves.
- Opportunity to build experience across administration, scheduling and operations.
- Potential to take on increased responsibility as your knowledge and confidence develop.
- A supportive working environment with an experienced operational team.
- Company pension scheme, holiday entitlement and additional company benefits.
