Deputy General Manager
Location: Manchester Airport (On-site)

We're looking for a proactive, hands-on Deputy General Manager to help lead the day-to-day operations of our growing airport parking business based at Manchester Airport.
We are a small team of people, who are committed to providing a quality service to our clients and are looking to expand our team to meet the current and increasing level of demand within our business.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys leading by example, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in delivering outstanding operational standards and customer service. Working closely with the General Manager, you'll play a key role in developing the business, supporting the team, and ensuring every customer receives a first-class experience.
The successful applicant must be energetic, be experienced in managing both policies and people and be able to work 5 shifts over 7 days.
What You'll Be Doing
- Support the General Manager in the day-to-day running of the business, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
- Lead, motivate and develop the on-site team, maintaining high standards of professionalism, punctuality and customer service.
- Be a visible, hands-on leader, supporting the team with daily operations, including vehicle movements.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with our hotel partners.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and enhance the customer experience.
- Ensure accurate recording of parking information and daily operational checks.
- Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety policies and company procedures.
- Provide on-call cover in the absence of the General Manager, including support for early returns and operational emergencies.
- Checking sites and ensure they are in full working order
- Manage parking, ensuring all vehicles are moved correctly and efficiently, dealing with any problems that may arise
- Maintenance stock list management
- Ensuring all driver/supervisor training manuals are up to date and ensuring all processes and procedures are adhered to at all times
- New starter training and staff retention
- Supporting the General Manager and taking control in their absence
- Work in conjunction with the General Manager to ensure all legal obligations are met
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with all clients and staff
- Assist the GM in developing sales and marketing strategies
- Dealing with any issues arising including customer queries and complaints
About You
We're looking for someone who is:
- An experienced supervisor or manager, ideally within the hospitality, travel, tourism or service industry.
- A confident leader who enjoys motivating and developing people.
- Organised, reliable and able to prioritise effectively in a busy operational environment.
- Comfortable working hands-on alongside the team.
- An excellent communicator with strong written and verbal skills.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining high operational standards.
- Flexible and willing to work weekends as part of a seven-day operation.
Working Hours
- 45 hours per week.
- Our business operates seven days a week, so weekend working is essential.
- Flexibility around start and finish times is required.

To be considered for this role, all applicants must have a strong background in team and people management, great interpersonal and communication skills at all levels, the ability to problem solve and be pro-active, have great observation skills and be literate in the use of Microsoft Office whilst being able to quickly and efficiently pick up our in-house software packages.
