We're looking for a Site Manager to join our team based in Brixworth, Northamptonshire. This is an excellent opportunity to lead the delivery of major highways and civil engineering projects across the East Midlands, helping to improve local communities through essential infrastructure, town centre regeneration, active travel, and highway improvement schemes. You'll play a key role in driving safe, efficient, and high-quality project delivery while working alongside experienced industry professionals.
Location: Brixworth, Northamptonshire – onsite 5 days per week
Hours: Permanent Fulltime 40 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us
Salary: £48,000 - £52,000 per year + £5,900 annual car allowance + private healthcare + benefits

What will you be responsible for?
As a Site Manager, you'll be working on a varied portfolio of highways infrastructure and civil engineering projects, including junction and interchange improvements, town centre regeneration schemes, active travel projects, carriageway reconstruction, resurfacing, drainage upgrades, and structures maintenance. Working on live highway environments, you'll champion a people-first approach to safety while leading site teams and subcontractors to deliver successful outcomes for our clients and communities.
Your day to day will include:
- Leading Kier site teams and labour framework operatives, while coordinating plant, materials, and resources to deliver works safely, efficiently, and on programme
- Producing and reviewing Construction Phase Plans and ensuring Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality standards are maintained across all site activities
- Acting as Principal Contractor, managing subcontractors and overseeing the successful delivery of civil engineering and highways projects
- Collaborating closely with Project Managers, Designers, Commercial teams, and Planners to drive project performance and resolve challenges
- Building positive relationships with clients, local authorities, elected members, parish councils, and members of the public
- Monitoring workmanship and carrying out quality inspections in line with Inspection Test Plans, specifications, and project requirements
What are we looking for?
This role of Site Manager is ideal if you:
- Have proven experience managing highways, infrastructure, or civil engineering projects under NEC4 contracts, with responsibility for programme, cost, quality, and safety performance
- Hold an HNC, HND, degree, or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline
- Possess industry-recognised certifications such as SMSTS, NRSWA Supervisor, and 12D M7 Traffic Management, or equivalent sector qualifications
- Hold a full driving licence and are comfortable travelling to project sites across the region when required
- Demonstrate strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with experience motivating teams and delivering complex civil engineering projects safely, efficiently, and to a high standard
