Equans is looking for a Document Controller to join our team in Leeds on a permanent basis. On offer is a competitive salary, and benefits package.
General Overview:
The Document Controller works closely with Project and Technical teams and take the lead on managing project documentation across multiple construction and refurbishment projects. The role ensures documentation is accurate, compliant, accessible, and aligned with project, client, and regulatory requirements. This includes administering the Electronic Document Management System (EDMS), supporting Fieldview setup, and maintaining high standards of information governance. The position offers a clear development pathway within document control.
What will you deliver?
- Assist with the management of the document control processes and maintain accurate records across all projects
- Configure and administer EDMS platforms (e.g., Viewpoint for Projects / 4Projects)
- Support Fieldview setup in line with inspection and testing requirements
- Implement naming conventions, workflows, and protocols at project start-up
- Coordinate document reviews, approvals, and version control with internal and external stakeholders
- Assist with the production of document control reports and maintain full audit trails
- Apply ISO 9001 and ISO 19650 processes including CDE workflows and approval structures
- Work closely with design teams and site teams to align documentation with programme needs

Who are we looking for?
Essential:
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage high volumes of documents.
- Proficient in MS Office and comfortable learning digital systems.
- Good communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to prioritise in a fast-paced environment.
Desirable:
- Experience in construction or engineering document control.
- Knowledge of Viewpoint (4Projects), Fieldview, or similar EDMS/CDE platforms.
- Understanding of ISO 19650 and project handover requirements.
- Experience with BIM-related documentation.
- Familiarity with commercial and contractual documentation.
