Night Supervisor
Working Hours: Full-Time, Monday to Friday (10pm-6am)
Location: Swindon
The role of the Supervisor is to supervise operations incorporating all functions from receipt to delivery ensuring all aspects of customer requirements are met within the agreed budgets, H&S standards and quality compliance. The Supervisor will also provide leadership and motivation to the team whilst ensuring all KPI’s are met.
What you'll do:
- To supervise warehouse teams and ensure that customers outbound deliveries and products are received, handled, picked and despatched with 100% accuracy using relevant warehouse management systems.
- To always work in a way that safeguards both your personal safety and the safety of all who work in the warehouse.
- Responsible for highlighting any potential quality issues, including hygiene and damage issues to the warehouse manager.
- Management of an Operational function, ensuring strong decision making to deliver efficient and effective service.
- Build and motivate the team, including recruitment, performance management and ongoing team development.
- Responsible for the control of Health & Safety, ensuring that all procedures are adhered to.
- Identify opportunities for improved efficiencies within the operation, recommending and implementing changes.
- Create a culture of engagement and inclusion within the operation and across the site.
- Support the resolution of specific performance issues or complaints regarding service levels from the customer or other areas.
- Responsible for KPI targets in a team to ensure a cost efficient and service focused department.
- Complete all reports as requested by the Site Manager, management team and Customer in a professional and timely manner.
- Lead a team and optimise day-to-day performance, including operational functions and shift briefings so that business targets are met or exceeded.
- Manage resources for the Operational function to deliver its objectives.
- Achievement of the Operational KPI’s such as productivity, quality, stock integrity, service and attendance.
- Ensure compliance and conformance to all legislative and company policy.
- Lead and support the Team in creating and delivering great communications to provide everyone with a two way information flow.
- Monitor resource and deployment of resource where required, including seasonal planning.
- Produce accurate daily and weekly KPI's ensuring they are distributed on time.
- Support a continuous improvement programme to increase efficient and effective working practices within the department.
- Identify opportunities for improved efficiencies within the operation, recommending and implementing change.
What we're looking for:
- Warehouse operational management experience essential.
- The possession of both Flexi and Counterbalance fork lift drivers licence is advantageous.
- The ability to safely operate warehouse equipment including pallet trucks and fork lift vehicles.
- Good PC literacy and the ability to use the systems applicable to the warehouse or the capability to use them after suitable training.
- Knowledge of the safe systems of work specified for the warehouse and of the H&S policies/procedures that apply to the company premises and its operations.
- Operational competence with the ability to work in a small team and with minimal supervision to consistently produce results that hit the KPI targets agreed with our customers or set by the company.
- To undertake disciplinaries with an understanding of note taking, investigation and disciplinary as per the HT disciplinary policy.
- Absence management reporting sickness absence to the business.
- To actively suggest CI opportunities and manage implementation and feedback results.
- Quality management, ensuring our customers’ expectations are met and regularly reported.
- Resource management, day to day and forward planning as required.
- Utilise HT Tool kits.
- Numerate and methodical in working method.
- Exam passes in Maths and English
