Spark2Life | London (Office-based) | Full-time, Permanent | £45,000–£50,000 per annum
Spark2Life is a community-inspired charity working to reduce violence affecting young people across London and Kent. Since 2006, we've delivered mentoring, casework, advocacy, counselling and training programmes that help young people break free from cycles of offending and exploitation.
We're looking for an experienced fundraising leader to take charge of our income generation strategy and help us grow our impact.
About the role
Reporting to the CEO, you'll hold primary responsibility for all areas of income generation securing funds from corporates, trusts and foundations, and local, regional and national funding bodies. As part of the Senior Management Team, you'll also oversee our evaluation framework and line manage our Communications Officer, ensuring our strategy and reporting are fully joined up. You'll play an active role in Board meetings, reporting on your areas of responsibility.
What you'll do
- Develop and deliver Spark2Life's business development strategy
- Achieve income targets across a broad fundraising portfolio
- Write high-quality, costed bids, grants and tender applications
- Monitor and forecast fundraising income and performance
- Represent Spark2Life at networking events with donors and commissioners
- Line manage the Communications Officer, Evaluation Officer and contracted bid writers/evaluators
- Oversee communications strategy, including press, social media and website
What we're looking for
- Minimum 3 years' experience as a charity fundraiser and/or bid writer
- Proven track record securing major grants and bids from trusts and foundations
- Strong staff management, budgeting and reporting experience
- Excellent written English and the ability to produce compelling, impactful content
- Highly organised, resilient and able to manage a complex, deadline-driven workload
- Knowledge of the criminal justice sector is desirable
