We're looking for a hardworking, reliable, and motivated Trainee Yard Operative to join our team on a part-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start a career in the construction industry, learn new skills, and progress within a growing business.
No previous yard experience is essential—we'll provide full training, including training to safely operate a telehandler. As your skills and experience develop, there will be opportunities to increase your hours and progress into a full-time Yard Operative role.
What You'll Be Doing
- Assisting with the day-to-day running of the yard.
- Preparing materials ready for fencing teams.
- Training to Load and unload company vehicles safely.
- Keeping the yard clean, organised, and safe.
- Helping to manage stock and report low stock levels.
- Looking after company tools and equipment.
- Working safely and following all health and safety procedures.
- Supporting the wider team wherever required.
This is a physically demanding role involving regular lifting and moving of fencing materials such as concrete posts, timber, gates, and fence panels. Care and attention are essential to ensure materials are stored correctly and remain in good condition.
As part of your development, you'll receive training to operate a telehandler safely and confidently.
Working Hours
Part-Time Afternoon Shift
Example 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm, Monday to Friday.
There is flexibility around hours for the right candidate, and as the business grows there will be opportunities to increase hours and move into a full-time position.

- Good communication skills.
- A proactive approach and willingness to take responsibility.
- Previous yard, warehouse, or construction experience is beneficial but not essential.
