Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Assistant Accountant to join our expanding practice. The successful candidate will support various accounting functions across multiple clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills within a dynamic, technology focused accountancy practice. The ideal applicant will possess a good understanding of accounting software and data entry procedures, as well as a strong work ethic and time management skills.
Responsibilities
- Support data entry tasks and bookkeeping
- Preparation and submission of VAT returns
- Reconcile accounts and prepare accounts up to Trial Balance
- Utilise accounting software such as Xero, Sage, and QuickBooks to maintain accurate financial data
- Communicate efficiently with clients in relation to their financial records and keeping their books up to date
Requirements
- Qualified to AAT Level 4 and/or with significant practice experience
- Proven experience with accounting software specifically Xero, but others useful
- Strong data entry skills with high attention to detail
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Ability to work independently but as part of a fast paced team
- Previous experience in a similar role is highly desirable; training will be provided for relevant systems and processes.

Pay: £26,500.00-£29,500.00 per year
