About Us
The Middlewick is a rural hospitality business in Glastonbury comprising holiday accommodation, a farm shop, an award-winning café, and Spa. We're looking for a reliable, hands-on Handyman/Maintenance Assistant to help keep our site running smoothly for guests and staff all year round.
The Role
You'll be responsible for the general upkeep and minor repair of our buildings and grounds, working independently and as part of a small team to maintain high standards across the accommodation, spa, and café areas.
Key responsibilities:
- Carry out minor repairs and routine maintenance across accommodation units, spa, café, and communal areas
- Identify and resolve maintenance issues proactively, using good judgement to prioritise tasks
- Use a range of hand and power tools and equipment safely and competently
- Support guest experience by ensuring facilities are well-presented, safe, and fully functional
- Work independently on assigned tasks with minimal supervision
- Liaise with the wider team to schedule work around guest bookings and business needs
- Report on-going or larger issues that require specialist contractors
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in a handyman, maintenance, or building care role
- Practical, hands-on problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and manage your own time and priorities
- Comfortable using a variety of tools and equipment
- Good communication skills and a team-oriented approach
- Flexible and reliable, with a positive attitude toward varied daily tasks
