Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Excavator Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating excavators and other heavy machinery to assist in the demolition and re line of Blast furnace casthouse refractory runner systems. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical operations and the ability to dig and manoeuvre materials efficiently and safely. The Excavator Operator will play a crucial role in ensuring that tasks are completed on time and to the highest standards.
Responsibilities
- Operate excavators 3.5t to 26t and other machinery inc. skid steers, fork lifts and telehandlers etc.
- Conduct pre-operation checks to ensure machinery is in safe working condition.
- Follow safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe work environment.
- Collaborate with site supervisors and team members to ensure efficient workflow.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment, including cleaning, lubricating, and inspecting for any mechanical issues.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and report any incidents or equipment malfunctions to management.
Skills
- Proficient in operating excavators with a strong understanding of digging techniques and machinery capabilities.
- Solid mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor issues with machinery effectively.
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate with team members and supervisors efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety practices on site.
