Duties
- Provide targeted sports massage therapy to improve muscle function, reduce soreness, and prevent injuries for clients of all activity levels
- Assess clients’ physical condition and develop customized treatment plans based on their specific needs and goals
- Use advanced massage techniques such as deep tissue, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, and stretching to facilitate recovery
- Educate clients on post-treatment care, stretching routines, and injury prevention strategies to support ongoing wellness
- Maintain detailed records of treatments administered, client progress, and treatment outcomes for future reference
- Ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming treatment environment adhering to health and safety standards
- Collaborate with other health professionals such as physiotherapists or trainers to provide comprehensive care when necessary
Experience
- Proven experience as a sports massage therapist or in a related therapeutic massage role with a focus on athletic populations
- Certification from a recognized massage therapy or sports therapy program (e.g., National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork or equivalent)
- Knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and biomechanics relevant to sports performance and injury recovery
- Ability to perform various massage techniques with precision and adapt treatments based on individual client needs
- Strong communication skills to effectively educate clients about their treatment plans and wellness strategies
- Passion for promoting health, fitness, and active lifestyles through expert manual therapy
