Join ADS and use your expertise to make a real difference through learning and development.
For over 40 years, the Alcohol & Drug Service (ADS) has been transforming the lives of people affected by drug and alcohol misuse. As a registered charity, our work makes a lasting difference to individuals, families and communities.
Generis, the specialist training and development department within ADS, delivers a wide range of accredited and bespoke training programmes to learners from diverse backgrounds and sectors. About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive and forward-thinking team where your knowledge, creativity and enthusiasm for teaching will be valued.
You’ll design, develop and deliver engaging accredited and bespoke training programmes, while supporting learners to achieve their potential. You’ll have the opportunity to work with people from a wide range of backgrounds and sectors, making every day varied and rewarding.

- Is passionate about creating and delivering engaging, high-quality learning.
- Has excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Can build positive relationships with and support a diverse range of learners.
- Is enthusiastic, creative and committed to continuous improvement.
Experience within substance misuse, health or social care would be desirable, but it is not essential. What matters most is your passion for learning, your ability to engage others and your desire to make a positive difference.
What we offer
At ADS, we want our people to feel valued, supported and able to develop their careers. In return for your skills and commitment, we offer:
- £26,682 – £30,327 salary, depending on experience.

- Attractive pension package, including a 6% employer contribution.
- Health scheme.
- Training and development opportunities aligned to your personalised learning and development plan.
- Enhanced sick pay.
- The opportunity to join ADS at an exciting time of growth, development and positive change.

ADS is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity. We promote the fair and equal treatment of potential and existing employees and service users.
For over 30 years, we have delivered effective interventions in towns and cities. We’ve helped thousands of local people on the road to recovery, across Humberside, Lincolnshire and Yorkshire, as we help the national strategy on a local basis.
The Alcohol & Drug Service is a charity (Registered Charity 1108595; and a Company Limited by Guarantee, Company No. 05375809). The majority of our funding comes through contracts with statutory commissioners such as Local Authorities and the NHS, but we receive valuable income from charitable grants and individual fundraising efforts which supports many of our most innovative services. We are governed by a Board of Trustees.
We ensure that the organisation is run well and we are a part of the Investors in People scheme, a quality framework which is independently audited. We currently hold the Silver award.
But, even though we’ve been transforming the lives of people affected by drugs or alcohol misuse for over 30 years, some people may not have heard of us. This is because we always work in partnership – and often deliver our services and projects which have their own names/identities.
