We are now recruiting an experienced and compassionate Senior Care Assistant to join our friendly team.
Role Overview
As a Senior Care Assistant, you will play a key role in leading the care team during your shift. You will support residents with their personal care needs, administer medication (following full competency training), maintain accurate records, and act as a point of support and guidance for care staff. You will contribute to the well-being, safety, and quality of life of our residents.
Key Responsibilities
Lead care staff during allocated shifts, ensuring high standards of care.
Provide person-centred care and support with daily living activities.
Administer medication safely in line with company procedures and policies.
Support residents with personal care, mobility, hydration, nutrition, and emotional well-being.
Maintain accurate care plans, records, MAR charts and daily documentation.
Communicate effectively with residents, families, healthcare professionals, and colleagues.
Support new and junior staff with guidance, training, and supervision as required.
Promote dignity, choice, independence and safeguarding at all times.
Assist with activities and social interaction, encouraging engagement and inclusion.
Report and escalate any concerns promptly to the Team Leader or Manager.
What We're Looking For
Experience in care and ideally in a senior or lead role.
NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care (or working towards).
Medication administration experience (training available).
Strong communication and leadership skills.
A caring, respectful, and professional approach.
Ability to work as part of a team and use initiative.
Understanding of safeguarding, dignity, confidentiality and best practice care.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including some weekends and evenings.
