We are currently recruiting for our services in the Wimborne area and are looking for caring, reliable and motivated female Support Workers to join our team.
£400 joining bonus available – Terms & Conditions apply.
Female-only position
This is a female-only position due to the nature of the support required, including personal and intimate care and the individual circumstances and needs of the people we support.
The successful candidate will be caring, patient and committed to providing high-quality, person-centred support to young adults with developmental disabilities.
You will support individuals to live as independently as possible, achieve their personal goals and aspirations, and enjoy meaningful and fulfilling lives.
About the role
This is a rewarding role offering flexible working hours. However, applicants must be able to work evenings, sleep-ins and weekends as part of a rota.
You will work as part of a supportive team, alongside other Support Workers and professionals including social workers and care managers.
The role requires someone who is confident working in a busy environment, able to remain focused for extended periods and attentive to the needs and wellbeing of the people we support.
Key responsibilities
- Provide high quality, person centred support based on each individual's needs, wishes and desired outcomes.
- Support people to live as independently as possible in their own homes and other chosen settings.
- Encourage and empower individuals to achieve their personal goals, aspirations and individual needs.
- Support individuals to participate in meaningful activities and engage with their local community.
- Build positive, respectful and trusting relationships.
- Work effectively as part of a team alongside Support Workers and other professionals.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, social workers, care managers and other professionals.
- Recognise and report safeguarding concerns, including abuse, neglect or exploitation, through the appropriate channels.
- Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries at all times.
- Respect every individual as a unique person and promote their choices and independence.
- Use good judgement and take appropriate initiative when providing support.
- Reflect on practice and contribute to the continuous improvement of the service.
- Promote and protect the dignity, human rights, wellbeing and independence of the people we support.
- Follow organisational policies, procedures and safeguarding requirements.
About you

Previous experience in care, learning disabilities or supporting people with developmental disabilities is desirable. However, we are also interested in candidates who demonstrate the right values, attitude and commitment, with appropriate training and support available.
