£13.50–£15/hour · 40 hours, permanent · Stalybridge, in person
No evenings, no split shifts, no service. You're finished for midday with your afternoon still in front of you.
We're a family bakery in Stalybridge — long-established, recently taken over, and putting proper ambition behind our range. We're standing up a two-person product-development team, and we want someone to build it out alongside our development baker.
The development side:
- Build new lines with exceptional finish — loaded doughnuts, cookies and traybakes, cheesecakes, croissant mash-ups, whatever's blowing up right now
- Pair with our development baker to take a rough idea all the way to a costed, repeatable product that actually sells
- Write it up and train it in, so the bake team can turn it out without you standing over them
- Make it look the part presentation counts as much as the eat
The production side:
- Get stuck in with the bake team on our everyday range
- And make it better while you're there prepping ahead to take the sting out of the morning rush, rethinking batches, cutting waste. We want someone who improves the line, not just staffs it
Is this you?
You're a baker or pastry chef who can take a product from brief to finished-to-spec on your own and who still enjoys a proper graft on a busy morning. Maybe you're in a craft bakery and never get to create anything. Maybe you're a chef de partie who's done with evening service.
- Solid pastry or bakery background with an eye for finish
- You genuinely know what's trending and shareable
- Dependable on a production morning — you can hold a station on your own
The hours, no surprises:
4am to 12pm, five days a week, permanent. Saturdays are part of it, you'll work every other Saturday and get a weekday back in exchange. Overtime is there for anyone who wants it, and more again around seasonal peaks, always flagged in advance.
It's an early start but in return you get your afternoons, your evenings, and half your Saturdays.
To throw your hat in:
Send your CV plus —
- 3–5 photos of your own finished bakes
- A link to any social or content you've made
- A line or two on something you took from idea to sale
No photos, no shortlist — we want to see what your hands can do. Make the cut and we'll bring you in for a paid trial bake
Pay: £13.50-£15.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
