Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes in accordance with menu specifications and quality standards
- Assist in the organisation and management of kitchen stations, ensuring smooth service during busy periods
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of work areas, adhering strictly to food safety regulations
- Monitor ingredients and supplies, notifying management when stock levels are low
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely meal preparation and presentation
- Support in training junior kitchen staff and apprentices as required
- Ensure all food is prepared efficiently, accurately, and presented attractively for service
- Follow health and safety procedures diligently to maintain a safe working environment
Experience
- Proven experience in food preparation and cooking within a professional kitchen environment
- Strong knowledge of culinary techniques and meal preparation processes
- Previous restaurant experience is highly desirable, with familiarity in serving or front-of-house operations considered an advantage
- Demonstrated understanding of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Experience working in a fast-paced setting with excellent organisational skills is essential
- Prior kitchen experience involving food safety compliance, meal presentation, and team collaboration will be highly valued
