We are looking for 2 reliable and friendly Caretaker/general maintenance people to work alongside each other to help ensure our centre is clean, safe, welcoming and ready for clients and visitors. This role would suit a job-share arrangement, with alternate weeks considered.
About the Role
The successful applicant will help prepare the centre for daily use, support hirers and customers, and make sure the building and site is opened and locked securely when required. Training will be given where necessary in particular areas of the role.
Key Duties
- Ensure the centre is clean, tidy and ready for clients, visitors and community use. Set out and put away tables and chairs and prepare the hall for customer bookings and events when required. Open and lock the centre, check car park and secure barrier ensuring the site is secure as required. Support safe day-to-day operation of the centre and help ensure health and safety standards are maintained. Carry out simple maintenance tasks, and report any more detailed maintenance, cleaning or safety concerns promptly. To be included on the on call rota, alongside others. Additional hours will be required to support seasonal events. Other duties may include meeting clients, showing them around the facilities and provide a helpful first point of contact when not covered by other members of staff.
About You
- Reliable, punctual and committed Able to work independently and also within a close team Friendly and confident when dealing with clients and visitors Good practical DIY knowledge Organised and willing to help prepare rooms for bookings Able to follow cleaning, security and health and safety procedures Previous cleaning, caretaking or customer-facing experience would be helpful, but is not essential Available evenings/weekends where necessary
- there will be some on call duties so need to live within a 20 minute drive of centre

Pay: £13.00 per hour
