Digital & Performance Creative Designer
Salary: £30,000–£35,000 DOE
Location: Altrincham, Greater Manchester
Company: 4MM Ltd / Media Maze
Employment: Full-time
Who We Are
4MM Ltd is a digital marketing and lead generation business based in Altrincham. Through our agency, Media Maze, we run B2C customer acquisition campaigns across automotive, financial services and utilities.
We operate several trading brands including Motorly (automotive finance and products), My Local Will Writer (will writing services) and Switchi (energy and broadband comparison). Creative sits behind all of them, though Motorly is where the majority of the work lives and where most of our growth is focused.
Motorly started as a motor finance proposition and is expanding into a broader automotive platform covering vehicle search, finance comparison, insurance, leasing and related products. As that range grows, so does the creative output behind it.
The Role
This is a hands-on performance creative role, primarily focused on paid advertising and email.
You'll own the creative output across our paid social and paid search campaigns, and take responsibility for developing our email and CRM design. You'll work closely with our paid media team and, as the business grows, you'll have the opportunity to get involved in wider brand, web and product design too.
You'll be our only in-house designer, which means the creative function is yours to shape. There's no creative director to route briefs through and no house style handed down from above. You'll set the direction, bring your own ideas and see them through from concept to live campaign. When the work performs, you'll know it was yours.
What You'll Be Doing
The core of the role is performance creative and email:
- Designing and producing static advertising creative for Meta (Facebook and Instagram)
- Creating and editing short-form video and motion advertising for paid social
- Producing creative variations to support ongoing performance testing
- Creating assets for Google's advertising ecosystem: Performance Max, Demand Gen, Display and YouTube
- Designing email marketing assets and reusable email templates
- Developing modular email components for automated customer journeys
- Ensuring creative consistency from ad to landing page to email
Performance Creative
One of the most important things we'll ask of you is curiosity about results.
Our paid advertising is measurable. We can see which creative produces clicks, applications and customers. We want someone who becomes genuinely interested in those numbers.
Why did one ad outperform another? Was it the image? The headline? The first three seconds of a video? And when someone clicked, did the landing page continue the message effectively?
We want design decisions increasingly driven by actual customer behaviour rather than opinion alone. You'll work closely with our paid media team, get direct feedback on the creative you produce, and use that to inform what you make next.
Beyond the Core Role
As Motorly develops, the scope of creative work will grow.
If you have an interest in UX, web design or digital product thinking, there will be increasing opportunity to get involved in landing pages, customer journeys and new product concepts. We work with an in-house development team and value designers who can think about how a customer journey looks and feels before it gets built.
This isn't a requirement for the role, but for the right person it makes the opportunity considerably broader.
What We're Looking For
- Strong graphic and digital design experience
- Experience producing paid social advertising, particularly Meta
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop and Illustrator as a minimum)
- Video editing capability (Premiere Pro, After Effects or equivalent)
- Experience designing email assets or templates
- A good eye for typography, composition and visual hierarchy
- The ability to produce creative at pace and manage multiple briefs
- A portfolio demonstrating strong digital and advertising work
Particularly Valuable
Experience in any of the following would be a strong advantage: performance marketing, B2C, automotive, financial services, comparison, lead generation, e-commerce.
Familiarity with Figma or UX/UI design would also be valued, particularly as the web and product side of the role develops.
