Don't just take our word for it...
“I was very sceptical about leaving my old job but I’m so I glad I took the leap and applied for my position at Apollo. Best thing I ever did, I get to spend more time with my children and watch them grow. Everyone is so friendly and easy to approach if you have a problem.”
About This Role
We are supporting a happy and sociable young boy who lives at home with his family and their pet dog in Ormskirk. He enjoys going for walks, baking, and getting creative with arts and crafts.
He is fully dependent on his care team for all aspects of daily living and uses a manual wheelchair for mobility. As he is non-verbal, he communicates through gestures, facial expressions and eye contact, so it’s important that his care team is attentive and responsive to his individual cues.
As part of his dedicated care team, you will provide person-centred support across both day and night shifts, including personal care, moving and handling, and attending to his clinical care needs. You’ll also encourage and participate in his favourite activities, helping him stay engaged and enjoy his time at home and in the community.
This is a rewarding opportunity to build a trusting relationship with him and his family while providing safe, compassionate and consistent care that promotes his comfort, dignity and wellbeing throughout the day and night.
Clinical Experience
Previous experience supporting children or young people with complex healthcare needs is desirable.
Where required, specialist clinical training will be provided by our highly skilled, in-house nursing team.
Essential Requirements
To be considered for this role, applicants must:
- Have a minimum of 3 months' paid experience working in a professional care setting within the UK.
- Have the right to work in the UK.
- Be committed to delivering safe, compassionate and child-centred care.
- Be willing to complete client-specific, clinical training where required.
We do not hold a sponsorship licence and are therefore unable to consider applicants requiring sponsorship.
