Start your career in business administration and customer service
Threada is looking for an enthusiastic Business Administration Apprentice to join our growing team at our headquarters in Poulton-le-Fylde.
This is a varied, hands-on apprenticeship for someone who wants to learn how a growing business operates while developing practical skills in customer service, administration, order processing and business support.
You’ll receive full training while working towards a Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship, gaining experience across a range of day-to-day activities that help keep our customers happy and our business running smoothly.
You don’t need previous office, customer service or administration experience. We’re more interested in finding someone with common sense, a positive attitude, good communication skills and a genuine willingness to learn.
The role would be particularly well suited to a college leaver, or someone at the beginning of their career who wants to develop valuable business skills and build a long-term future within a growing company.
What you’ll be doing
Working alongside our experienced teams, you’ll learn how to:
- Be a friendly and professional first point of contact for customers
- Answer incoming telephone calls and respond to customer enquiries
- Process customer orders accurately using our internal systems
- Provide customers with order updates and delivery information
- Prepare quotations and pricing for customer enquiries
- Order garments and other stock from our suppliers
- Check order details and make sure information is accurate before production
- Liaise with our production team to help orders move through the business smoothly
- Assist with general administration and day-to-day business tasks
- Maintain accurate customer, order and supplier records
- Help resolve straightforward customer queries and problems
- Support the preparation of orders and stock where required
- Communicate with colleagues across different departments
- Follow established processes and help the team meet customer deadlines
As your skills and confidence develop, you’ll take on more responsibility and gain a broader understanding of how customer enquiries become completed orders.
You’ll also learn how different parts of the business work together, from customer service and purchasing through to production and dispatch.
Who we’re looking for
You don’t need to arrive knowing how everything works. We’ll teach you that.
What matters most is that you:
- Are willing to learn and take feedback on board
- Have good common sense and attention to detail
- Are friendly, confident and comfortable communicating with people
- Can communicate clearly by phone, email and in person
- Are organised and able to manage different tasks
- Are reliable, punctual and ready to contribute
- Can follow instructions and established processes
- Take pride in completing work accurately
- Are comfortable using computers and willing to learn new systems
- Can work independently while also being part of a team
- Stay calm and helpful when dealing with customer enquiries
- Want to develop a career rather than simply find a temporary job
GCSEs or equivalent qualifications in English and maths would be desirable, particularly as the role involves written communication and working with order information, but attitude, reliability and willingness to learn are extremely important to us.
Working hours
The role is full-time, working 37.5 hours per week.
Our core working hours are:
Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.00pm, with scheduled breaks.
Pay and benefits
- Competitive apprenticeship starting rate
- Full workplace training
- Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship
- Immediate access to the company health benefit plan
- 28 days’ annual holiday entitlement
- Support from an experienced team
- Gym membership
- Genuine opportunities to progress within the business
Career progression
We see apprenticeships as the start of a career, not simply a short-term placement.
After successfully completing the apprenticeship, there may be opportunities to progress into a permanent role within our Client Services or wider business administration team.
As your knowledge and experience develop, you could take on greater responsibility for customer accounts, order management, purchasing, quotations and internal business processes.
As Threada continues to grow, there may also be opportunities to explore other areas of the business including sales, account management, operations, purchasing, marketing or team leadership.
