About the role:
We're looking for an experienced and technically driven Engine Warranty Support Manager to join JCB Power Systems. Reporting to the Quality Manager, this specialist role is responsible for leading engine failure investigations, driving warranty recovery activities and ensuring robust root cause analysis is applied to improve product reliability and reduce warranty costs.
Acting as the technical authority for engine warranty investigations, you'll work closely with Engineering, Service, Quality teams and component suppliers to identify failure causes, implement corrective actions and support continuous product improvement. This is a highly visible role that plays a crucial part in protecting customer satisfaction, supporting business performance and maintaining JCB's reputation for quality and reliability.
What does this role involve day to day?
- Leading engine failure investigations and component strip-down analysis, supported by a team of Quality Technicians.
- Driving warranty recovery activities with suppliers, ensuring appropriate costs are recovered and corrective actions are implemented.
- Identifying and analysing key warranty cost drivers, leading root cause investigations and delivering solutions to prevent recurrence.
- Supporting the assessment and approval of high-value or complex warranty claims.
- Working closely with Engineering, Service and suppliers to investigate failures and drive effective corrective actions.
- Providing technical support and train-the-trainer guidance to Service teams on engine diagnostics and failure investigation techniques.
- Applying recognised quality and problem-solving methodologies to support robust root cause analysis and continuous improvement.
- Presenting investigation findings, containment actions and permanent corrective actions to senior management, manufacturing business units, dealers, OEMs and customers.
- Supporting the ongoing development of warranty processes, standards and product reliability initiatives across the business.
This will be suited to you if...
- You hold an HNC in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) and have significant experience within engine, powertrain or related engineering environments.
- You have a strong technical understanding of engine systems and engine failure analysis.
- You are experienced in root cause investigation techniques and structured problem-solving methodologies.
- You have worked closely with suppliers, driving technical resolutions and warranty recovery activities.
- You are confident analysing complex technical failures and making evidence-based decisions.
- You have strong stakeholder management skills and can build effective relationships across Engineering, Quality, Service and Supply Chain functions.
- You are an excellent communicator, capable of presenting technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- You enjoy leading investigations and seeing problems through to permanent resolution.
- You are proactive, organised and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- You have a passion for product quality, customer satisfaction and continuous improvement.
