Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of cost control and financial planning for construction projects, ensuring that budgets are maintained and resources are optimised. Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects in collaboration with project managers and clients.
- Monitor project expenditure throughout the construction lifecycle to ensure adherence to budgets.
- Conduct regular cost analysis and report on financial progress, identifying potential overruns or savings opportunities.
- Manage procurement processes, including tendering, negotiations, and contract administration with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Oversee variations and change orders, ensuring proper documentation and approval in line with contractual obligations.
- Maintain accurate records of costs, commitments, and payments for all project-related activities.
- Collaborate closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients to ensure project specifications are met within financial constraints.
- Implement effective cost control measures to optimise resource utilisation without compromising quality or safety standards.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction or civil engineering sectors.
- Strong background in cost control, budgeting, and financial management of large-scale projects.
- Familiarity with relevant industry software such as CostX, Bluebeam, or similar programmes is desirable.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
- Effective communication skills to liaise confidently with stakeholders at all levels.
- A recognised qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction Economics is preferred.
