Planning Team Leader

We are looking to recruit a highly skilled and conscientious Planning Team Leader to join the team based at our Bootle site. The job holder will be an integral part of the team, providing effective and efficient planning for bought in products. The successful candidate should be willing to support the manufacturing manager in all associated activities with planning within Mast ensuring they are accurate and follow the correct process with the correct associated documentation.
THE ROLE
- Management of the day to day running of the planning department
- Providing daily guidance, vice and general management support to the team and other departments.
- To ensure a balance of inventory and serviceability levels to meet overall business requirements
- Assist in the development and implementation of more efficient product planning processes
- Preparation of documentation for production managers for distribution of work
- Analysis of stock requirements, back orders, current orders and upcoming orders
- Working with other departments to enable accurate update of stock requirements
- Define priorities and monitor planning to prevent production delays
- Identification of materials shortages, working with procurement in arranging timely delivery
- Contribute to the development and improvement of the systems and processed within the department
In addition to the specified duties the Planning team Leader is expected to perform additional tasks that the company may require.
THE PERSON
- Experience of managing a small but busy team previously
- GCSE in maths and English
- Experienced and comfortable in using Microsoft office packages
- Experience of using an ERP system and understand how it works, Sage is desirable
- Previous experience of overseeing a planning department
- Excellent communication across all levels and departments
- Experience of working to tight deadlines
- Experience of working with ISO standards
In addition to the specified duties the employee is expected to perform additional tasks when reasonably called upon to do so.
