We're a Cornwall-based e-commerce business shipping fishing tackle and outdoor gear to customers across the UK, Europe and the USA. Orders go out same day, every day, and we're looking for a picker packer to join the warehouse team and keep that running.
This is a small operation, not a distribution centre. You'll know every product on the shelves, and you'll see the direct result of the work you do.
What you'll be doing
- Picking customer orders against SKU-based location codes, accurately and at pace
- Packing and dispatching multiple product types, from small-letter items to parcels
- Preparing orders for both domestic and international shipping
- Keeping your picking and packing area clean, organised and stocked with consumables
- Checking your own work and flagging picking errors before they leave the building
- Working with the warehouse manager to fix the causes of recurring errors, not just the errors themselves
What we need from you
- Previous warehouse picking experience — this isn't a role we can train from scratch
- Familiarity with SKU-based picking and location-code systems
- Exemplary timekeeping. Our dispatch cut-offs are fixed. If you're not here, orders don't ship
- Strong attention to detail — an incorrect pick becomes a return, a refund and an unhappy customer
- The ability to take clear direction from the warehouse manager and act on it
- A methodical approach to managing your own workspace
- Honesty about mistakes. We'd far rather hear about a mispick than discover it a week later
